Christians for Israel

Christians for Israel and the Rebirth of Jewish Sovereignty

When thinking of the return of the Jews to the land of Israel and the restoration of Jewish sovereignty there after nearly 2000 years of dispersion, one doesn’t generally think of the role of Christians in the realization of that dream.

That’s because the story of their significant input has not been sufficiently disseminated, either among Christians or Jews.  Now, however, for the first time, the stories of dozens of dedicated Christians for Israel are dramatically told in – where else but the eternal capital of the Jewish people, Jerusalem. In the heart of the city, in the midst of an historic and charmingly preserved area of restored old stone buildings, a new museum – the technologically advanced Friends of Zion Museum - has been established to inform people from all nations how Christians united for Israel from many countries have striven over the past 200 years to encourage, promote and implement the return of the Jewish people to their historic homeland.

Many of those faith-inspired Christians for Israel did so at the risk of ridicule from their peers - some accused them of “Christian Zionism heresy” – or even at the risk of their own lives in the darkest days of the Holocaust. But they would not be deterred. They spoke out, they wrote treatises, they made decisions and they took actions, all demonstrating that the concept of Christians for Israel was a vibrant movement, one which still reverberates today among millions of Christian supporters of Israel all over the world.

Come and Meet Winston Churchill and Harry Truman

Among recognizable names in this category highlighted in the Friends of Zion Museum are such historic figures as former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and former US President Harry S. Truman. To “meet” such figures and many others at the Friends of Zion Museum has proven to be an inspiriting, educational and emotional experience for thousands of visitors, as testified to in their own words upon exiting the museum.

The Friends of Zion Museum is no ordinary museum of “objects,” but rather employs a variety of high-technology techniques to actually bring to life the saga of these Christians for Israel through the use of original artistic animation, giant touch screens, video, special lighting, music and even three-dimensional projection. Narration is offered in 15 languages. You will meet in the museum, among others, the ten Boom family of Holland, some of whom lost their lives in order to hide Jews from the Nazis; British Maj. Gen. Orde Wingate, who trained Jewish commandos before the birth of the State of Israel; and Swiss national John Henry Dumont, founder of the International Red Cross, who was an early Zionist advocate – all heroes of the Christian Zionism that made a huge contribution to the modern miracle known as the State of Israel.
