A stunning audio-visual presentation introduces us to the modern miracle that we call the State of Israel. Join us as we “fly over” the Holy Land from south to north and west to east. This is a fitting prelude to the stories of those who made this dream possible, and it starts with a welcoming message by the Friends of Zion Museum’s former International Chairman, the late former President Shimon Peres
We step back in time to the Biblical promise, the covenant between God and the people of Israel, which stands as the basis for the belief in Zionism. Our story begins with Abraham and his descendants, continues through their early history in the Holy Land, and flows into the path of exile. Through imaginative animation, unique lighting effects, and original music, we can witness the strong faith of the people of Israel.
The stories of four charismatic 19th and 20th century believers in the ingathering of the People of Israel to the Holy Land are presented here in a unique multi-media fashion through video mapping projections on wooden sculptured figures and directed sound narration. These early Christian Zionist dreamers were to have great influence in their time.
A huge, hand-drawn Interactive Mural that is triggered by touch, tells the stories of many non-Jewish Friends who have helped bring about the fulfillment of the biblical promise. The Hall of Visionaries presents the stories of renowned figures such as Queen Victoria, Winston Churchill, Lord Balfour, and Woodrow Wilson. These true visionaries appear to us here in illuminated animation as we learn of their contributions in realizing the Zionist dream.
In this emotionally-charged gallery, evocative animation and lights that are projected onto a dark “shattered” wall introduce us to enormously courageous heroes. The heroes are represented as beams of light in the dark times of WWII. These are the Righteous Among the Nations, the ones who risked their own lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. Their names will forever be inscribed in our hearts with thanks: Oskar Schindler, Irena Sendler, Chiune Sugihara, the ten Boom family, and Raoul Wallenberg.
The Hall of the Brave introduces us to courageous international figures who committed themselves wholeheartedly to the establishment of the Jewish State and the defense of the Jewish people in the Holy Land. As we face these life-sized figures on screen, they “personally” turn to us and tell us their stories.
